Hi Arvind,
Yes, we can generate SMS, mail by using alerts. You have to to all the settings for alert configuration in order to send mail/sms. Check this doc for more on alerts:

can you please add more content to your questions. These seem to be right out of a manual. the answers are probably in the chapter before it. as for your current question are you referring to alerts in XI? If so then I would start by looking in the Runtime Workbench.
