Help Troubleshooting Flya Kite Integrated Case

A student of mine is having problems completing Assignment 2 Flya Kite Integrated Case. She has very detailed screen shots and explanation in a Word document, but, I see no way to attach it. In summary, here is what is happening:

In the Create Raw Material (Initial Screen) student enters Wood012 in the material field to before selecting viewsu2026 If she leaves it blank, a randomly assigned number appears in the material field with no authority to change itu2026

She then selects the Organizational Level Views, FKPT. After selecting the views, she tries to start over and create Wood012. She gets the error that material already maintained.

When she accesses Wood012 through the Change Material Option, she can go through all the views and the data she entered is there. However, when she tries to search, leaving the search value blank to view a list of all materials, Wood012 is not there in the list.

Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Hi Lisa,

If your student got the access to SE11 / SE16d/se16.... then execute the same, enter the table name as MARC . Then enter the material number & check whether the records looks fine in table level ... repeal the same for the table MARA & MBEW (if costing view is maintained).... then share the observation & we can discuss further based on it

Dear Lisa,

does the student search for the material number or material description?!

When entering transaction mm03 or mm02 and searching for a material, students often use the search field for material number but enter the material description (which can be completely different from the material number). and if the description differs from the number they won't get any results back. So please make sure the student uses the material number when the number is needed and uses the description when the description is needed.
