Would you still do the HANATEC_17 or look more towards the C_HCADM | SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA Cloud Provisioning and Administration

Hi Bren,

I would (and took both).

SAP’s focus is cloud and for this reason most attention goes to SAP HANA Cloud. However, a lot of customers and partners run SAP HANA platform on-premises or in the cloud but with "lift-and-shift" into private cloud or IaaS (SAP, AWS, Azure, GCP, ...). For this, HANATEC remains the go-to certification. SPS 05 is supported until 2025; SPS 06 just released; SPS 07 announced, the journey continues!

Talking about journeys:

• The learning journey for HANATEC takes 48 hours (e-book self-study, 12 days in class).
• The learning journey for HCADM takes 12 hours (mileage may vary, of course, if you are already familiar with HANA Cloud, half-a-day probably suffices)

After passing HANATEC, taking the HCADM only requires a little bit of study.

For those pursuing an SAP on Azure certification, HANATEC is essential preparation while HCADM is not relevant

• Get Certified: Microsoft Certified – Azure for SAP Workloads Specialty

Same for the recently launched (and currently in beta)

• AWS Certified: SAP on AWS - Specialty (PAS-C01) Exam
