Does doing certification in .net or java matter much for SAP professional?

I am fresher and my company given me some training in ABAP and very soon I will be assigned work in ABAP. I have done M.Sc(IT) and during my study i have done job also. I have very good knowledge of .net and also done some live projects in it. And i also have good knowledge of java. So if i do certification in .net or java then will it matter much as being professional in SAP? And I think in SAP business oriented knowledge is more important.

Please give your useful guideline.

Hi Vikram,

Vikram soon you will be working on SAP platform as your company is going to assign you project of ABAP then having certification of SAP technologies will be more beneficial than others. As you will be working on ABAP then having ABAP certification can help you more than others.

As certification of .NET and JAVA is concerned, in my personal view .NET certification would not be much beneficial for you. But JAVA can be useful as many a times SAP people need having of JAVA and even in product development knowledge of JAVA will be required sometime to make SAP system with JAVA enabled. These days SAP is going forward with JAVA technologies so having this certification will be better in these two.
