Do we have a certificate for datasphere? thanks ~

In our available certificate list, I can't find any certificate is related to datasphere. So, do we have plan to onboard a new certificate for datasphere or please point me to a existing one.

@NanWang It's a good question. Yes, there is no Datasphere certification yet!

We are currently updating our (as of now) SAP BW/4HANA certification to a "data engineer for data warehouse applications" certification with the goal to include SAP datasphere into the certification topics. The certification should be available starting summer 2024.

The SAP BW/4HANA courses have been updated last fall and will be updated this year. The datasphere courses are constantly updated every 2 weeks when new product features are shipped in line with the strategy communication from product management. Regarding certification, together with the new certification, we are currently update the courses as online learning journeys. This update process will continue.

Thank you very much for your valuable comment. In this specific case, we do not only have a product-related certification; the certification is based on a role. The role of a Data Engineer in the SAP area covers more than one product; the respective person needs to have a broad knowledge of the available solutions, which in this area for now are SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Datasphere. Of course, when we look at the future, Datasphere is evolving quickly. Therefore, the percentage of Datasphere within this certification will grow with every update, whereas BW/4HANA will only become a minor part. We are constantly re-evaluating and developing our certification portfolio and your customer feedback and the product evolution will be an important part of our future decisions.

For me, I have just switched to working with SAP Datasphere skills without any prior basic knowledge of BW4. Therefore, I would like SAP to open up more opportunities. I see that SAP SuccessFactors has multiple certifications separated by topics. I believe it is neither strange nor difficult to add an SAP Datasphere certification, especially for SAP Data Engineer.

Still awaiting for SAP Datasphere Certification updates. Datasphere accounts only 11-20% in BW4H_2404.By when can we expect a standalone Datasphere Certification.It would benefit SAP Data & Analytics professionals who are beginners and can start from Datasphere alone rather than learning BW/4HANA or HANA Modeling.

Hi Mrinal, please be aware that we follow a role based approach for our certifications, not a product-based approach. The role covers SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Datasphere modeling and data acquisition. From year to year, the SAP Datasphere part will naturally increase and the BW part will decrease over time. At some point several years from now, we may only have SAP Datasphere. But for now, SAP BW/4HANA remains the product with the wider variety of features..

I think SAP Datasphere is easier to use and more user-friendly than SAP BW/4HANA. Therefore, it is not surprising that business users can access and utilize it more than SAP BW/4HANA. I believe many users, whether they are data engineers, data analysts, or business users, are starting to use SAP Datasphere instead of SAP BW/4HANA. Therefore, there should be a variety of options available for certification in order to better meet the needs of users.
