Hello,

I've got a really simple question and hope someone has the answer:

What is the meaning of the word SAP? What do the S, the A and the P stand for?

Also, we often use the term STAR to refer to a SAP user module...does anyone know what STAR stands for?

Hi,

"Systems, Applications & Products in Data Processing".

SAP originally stood for "Systemanalyse und Programmentwicklung" (System Analysis and Program Development). This was later changed to "Systeme, Anwendungen und Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung" (Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing).
