Hi Experts,

I am Microsoft ERP Techno-Functional consultant (AX, Navision) of 4+ years of experience

1. I am interested to be a SAP Consultant. What relevant course should I take?

2. As for as I know in SAP, we should choose one carrier pathin SAP (Eithear technical or functional).how to choose which stream I should go for? To go for functional which domain will have more added value?

3. I choose to go for FICO, do I need to hold a finance degree. (Basically I hold bachelors degree in engineering)

4. Several companies/training institutions offer SAP training with guaranteed placements, are these trainings genuine and are the certificates valid?

Kinldy guid me with your valuable comments .Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Bhareth.

Hi bhareth,

Am not sure what's your primarily work in your present technology but as u are a techno- functional consultant i would recommend you to seek knowledge and try your hands on the SAP TECHNO FUNCTIONAL MODULES i.e., The IS modules of SAP for ex.- ISU, that is a Industries Utilities modules which requires a lot of technical knowhow apart from being functional.

And as far as your interest in the sap financial modules is concerned, its better to have some domain knowledge in the subject before to try your hands on the specific module. As SAP FICO requires deep understanding over the concepts which a consultant should be well aware off before practicing SAP FICO.

Hi Prashant ,

Thanks for your reply .

currently I am working on my present technology and all my implementation were on Financial module .Even though i have little domian knowledge on SCM,CRM and HR but i will be more comfortable with Financials and MIS.

All my concern is i am not a guy from financial back ground and i doesn't hold finance degree as i informed earlier i hold B.E Electronic and Instrumentation engg degree.

1. Do i will be recognized in the market if i studied FICO module?

2.Is it worth paying a hugh amount to siemens in learing this course?

hi,

if u come in real time scenario it is very difficult to manage the users without finance background ,so why caanot u concentrate in logistics module if u are engineering background

hi ram ,

Thanks for your valuable suggestions and i have chosen to take my path in SD module a week before.

Do i need to go for a training/certification from Siemens/Genovate and i found these trainers charge very high rates.

Even if i get trained will i be valuable in market since i don't have a real time SAP implementation experience although i have other ERP implementation experince(Microsoft ERP's AX,NAv).

please advise
