BPI-I: General Question about tolerances

Can a tolerance for moving avg. price be set? IN EX. 69 we set the Moving Avg. price for boxes at $.20. In EX 100 we order at $.29. This seems quite a material departure from teh orginal moving avg. price. I would like to flag that transaction. thank you for your input.

This can be done. My guess is that in your exercise set you have told the system not to check tolerances.

The transaction code is

SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG->Materials Management->Purchasing->Purchase Order->Set Tolerance Limits for Price Variance

For the tolerance key select the one related to purchase price. Supply the relevant company code. Specify upper and lower price tolerances as a percent or absolute dollar values.

This check will be done based on the data in the material master and so the methodology used to determine the base value for comparison will be taken from there.
