Book to read for basics of accounting as a FICO fresher migrated from SAP PI

Hi experts,

First of all I need to apologize for asking this question in SAP Forum. Initially I was working as an SAP PI consultant, now I am transferred to FICO team.

It's difficult to grasp those accounting terms. Can you guys prescribe me some books to read to grasp those fundamentals with GST topic.

Hi Subin,

if you expect GST to be explained in a basic book on accounting then i'm afraid you will not be able to find one. many, if not all, tax topics are actual legal acts enforced by their respective jurisdictions.

if you are really interested in accounting i would recommend starting with this: http://jeremycripps.com/docs/Summa.pdf or simply sign up for a class at a local business school.

Sometimes it can be difficult for a technical person to grasp financial logic if you have no previous experience in FI. From my experience, you should go for it in a few smaller steps. I did it this way:

• Read some blogs that are marked as financial terms for dummies.
• Find some courses online that are reserved for finacial training. Many universities have put their material online. Try to find some basic courses that are short and explanatory with some examples. Do not try to get it all. Try just to catch "the way of thinking".
• After grasping the pure basic, try to find someone who can explain more complicated details in the face-to-face communication.
• At the end read some SAP material about FICO.
