The SAP University Alliances team looks forward to SAPPHIRE NOW Madrid + TechEd as an opportunity to reach out to “Next-Generation” influencers and welcome the 800th member in EMEA.  Below are a few questions that we were recently asked about the upcoming conference.
---

What does the SAP University Alliances (UA) team have planned at SAPPHIRE Madrid + TechEd?

SAPPHIRE NOW Madrid + TechEd will be a fun and inspirational event for professors, lectures, and students! For the first time at SAPPHIRE NOW, we will have a pre-conference program, SAP InnoJam, where UA participants can mingle and work together to find solutions to real problems, learn about SAP’s newest technologies, and present their prototypes in front of a panel of judges.
.

Sessions will include keynotes as well as updates on SAP HANA, Mobile, Cloud, Analytics, and core solutions. This conference represents a great opportunity for UA attendees both on-site and virtually to learn about how SAP is helping customers become best-run businesses.
.
The UA team will continue plans to empower 1 million students in 2013 by providing knowledge and access to SAP HANA and mobile solutions.  100 professors, 23 students and academics will learn about the following:

  • SAP HANA Academy an innovative learning platform for beginners and experts
  • SAP Startup Forums for students in Berlin, Finland, Johannesburg, London, Moscow, Paris, Tel Aviv and other locations
  • Mobile apps showcase including the PhotoTribe mobile app
  • “SAP Students Council” to offer the ability to mutually influence and make connections around the globe

What sessions &/or workshops are of high interest?

Tuesday after the Keynote there will be an exclusive workshop for professors and students where they will explore SAP´s innovative learning platform. Wednesday there will be a University Alliances guided tour, which will provide UA attendees with an opportunity to learn about the SAP strategy and to network with SAP customers, partners, executives and community members. The tour will include updates from SAP experts on the following topics:  SAP HANA: Big Data; SAP Visual Intelligence; User Experience: Apps; as well as many other topics.

In addition, there will be a “Signing Ceremony” with the University of Applied Management Studies in Mannheim, which represents the 800th university in EMEA, and 1300th university worldwide! That is an exciting milestone for the University Alliances program.

What else is planned?

UA attendees will meet SAP Mentors who are amongst the top SAP Community Network influencers and experts in the club house and may run into them on the show floor wearing T-shirts with their Twitter handles on the back.

There is also an award ceremony for the Student Dashboard Competition, presented by SAP UA in collaboration with UNICEF. It will take place at the Hotel Pullman Madrid.

Please share with us any other activities that will help academics both on-site and around the globe?

SAP customers and partners will present their submitted proposals at the acclaimed DemoJam, where finalists will share their new, electrifying technologies or applications. UA professors can join the audience to watch these demos and vote for the best ones of the evening.

At the end of the conference, there will be a SUPERTRAMP concert for all attendees.
