SAP Labs and University Alliances India had organized the first ever student competition of its kind in India called – SAP BizTech 2012 – DEMO JAM – where students were invited to submit innovative working prototypes of their technological solutions on any 2 business themes out of the 5 – Big Data, Mobility, Governance, Sustainability and Social Networking. The finals of the student competition took place on 26 November 2012 at the BizTech – DEMO JAM segment as part of Techniversity 2012. 6 finalist teams showcased their products in front of over 5000 students and professors. It was great to see students from University Alliances member schools taking up the challenge to come up with innovative solutions in these 5 themes and help the world run better. In addition to the prototype, they also submitted their business plans, go-to-market strategy, pricing strategy, type of delivery model - SaaS or on-premise, User Interface mock-ups and a working prototype.
Social media like Facebook, Twitter and SCN were used to advertise Techniversity through the content on the competition – SAP BizTech to reach up to 2700+ students. Please see SAP Techniversity Facebook page and also University Alliances Fan Page on Facebook.
Despite the complexity of the competition, 142 teams comprising of 516 students registered for the competition by the deadline. All these teams comprised of 3 to 6 team members from Business and Technical streams in the Universities. These teams came from 30 cities across India. Finally, out of 25 teams, 6 were shortlisted for the Demo Jam that was held at Techniversity on 26 November 2012 in front of 5,000 students.

Experience with SAP BizTech (Demo Jam) has been a enriching opportunity and "serious fun" for we students of SCIT. Coming up with an idea and evolving it into a product and ultimately winning the DemoJam Championship is an experience in itself. My team and I are immensely grateful to SAP University Alliances for encouraging and providing us with this great experience. It provided us the platform to network and interact with the professionals at SAP.
Experience at Techniversity Bangalore 2012 has been very good. It was an opportunity to meet famous personalities like Vishwanathan Anand, Mekin Maheshwari, Suresh Raina and many more. The best take away from the event is to "be a job provider rather than a job seeker" and make India a hub of innovation. Thank you SAP University Alliances for this great opportunity.”

I congratulate SAP and SAP University Alliances for successfully organizing this event as part of the TechED 2012. I am sure that techniversity has enabled UA, reach a sizable student population and will have a strong impact in triggering the interest to associate with SAP through UA.
All the events and sessions were thoughtfully chosen keeping in mind the students' interest. I was very impressed with the judicious mix of sessions that formed part of the event.
In particular the DemoJam by college students was the best because it gave the students a direct platform to collaborate and co-innovate with SAP.
I thank YOU and the entire team of SAP-UA India and APJ for organizing and supporting the Techniversity. We eagerly look forward to participating in the next year's event.
