SAP Techniversity witnessed the participation of 5,166 students from 76 colleges, and renowned faculty members. A first of its kind in India, and a completely new format from SAP, Techniversity is a great opportunity to connect with universities and the youth.

The event started at 9:00 a.m on 26 November 2012, and after the welcome address, was followed by an inspiring keynote address by World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand.

There were sessions on various technical topics like Big Data with Jeffrey Word, technology powered e-commerce with Mekin Maheshwari, social media with Ravi Grover, Cloud Computing with Amol Mahamuni, and internet security with Ankit Fadia, spread throughout the day.

Panel discussions with K. Srikrishna, Phanindra Sama, Bhaskar S, Rahul Panicker, and Amarinder Singh on entrepreneurship, and with Anil Warrier and Srinivasa Rao on career enhancement were organized. The program also witnessed the launch of a potentially far-reaching collaboration between SAP and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). To maintain the energy of the participants at all times, the schedule was punctuated with the live performances of the three college bands that were selected through the bandwidth contest.

Leading Indian cricketer Suresh Raina appeared for a chat show with the attendees and Simon Pierro, the famous German magician, will mesmerize the audience with his  digital magic show in the evening.  The event also provided a platform to the college students to express their innovative, and entrepreneurial product ideas through a Demo Jam contest.

SAP Techniversity succeeded spectacularly with a highly energetic and enthusiastic student community enjoying and learning through the day. The feedback received was extremely positive. One of the participating students observed on twitter that “SAP Techniversity is awesome”.  There was a general consensus amongst the participants that SAP Techniversity has helped them to run better in future, and they owe this to SAP.
