CeBIT 2015 is not only the world’s biggest information technology fair but also offers space for various Focus Days. On Tuesday, March 17, the Focus Day Developer took place, organized by SAP University Alliances (UA) and covering software development for digital transformation.
For every developer, SAP HANA Cloud Platform offers database, application, UI, mobile services and many more: every tool in one place. The Focus Day gave some information about how users can develop In-Memory-optimized applications with modern, HTML5-based user interfaces.
In the first slot Daniel von Dungen, project lead of SAP University Alliances’ ESA App Camp, introduced the SAP HANA Cloud Platform based Apps from the finalists of the App Camp illustrating what can be built from scratch by students and young entrepreneurs within just 3,5 days. All Apps utilized the SAP HANA Cloud Platform, earth observation data provided by the European Space Agency and other SAP technology like UI5.
At the end of the session, the German finalist team “Malevich” gave a demo of their solution, explaining their innovative business model and showing what is possible on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform. Their solution identifies solar power arrays from earth observation data and analyzes solar radiation, atmosphere opacity and other relevant factors to provide business intelligence that they offer to companies in the solar power industry.
