On November 7th, SAP hosted SAP Student Innovation Day at Newtown Square, PA bringing in almost 60 undergraduate and graduate students from Penn State (York and University Park), University of Delaware, Salisbury University, and Villanova University. Don Mahoney, VP and Global Head of Chemicals, welcomed and introduced the students to SAP. Enterprise Architect, Bjoern Ganzhorn, then hosted a workshop, SAP Industry Cloud on HANA, and explained its relevance to IT.
Lauren McCallum, Solution Manager in Industry Business Solutions, spoke with the students about SAP Customers and the Simplification of IT Landscapes. During lunch time, the group enjoyed lunch at NSQ1 cafeteria and got the chance to speak with recent hires to learn more about SAP and SAP’s work culture.
Following lunch, students met with Walter Talunas Jr., Senior Basis Administrator, to discuss the skills needed to work in IT at SAP. Business Analytics Consultant (and ex-student intern), Jason Scanlon, shared the skills needed to work as an SAP Consultant with first-hand experience as a student intern for SAP and later on becoming a Consultant.
The day concluded with students learning more about the SAP University Alliances program and how they can benefit from the UA Program. Special thanks to the Chemicals group for their great support for the students:
