Dear SAP Integrated Business Planning Professional Community,

******** As of January 1, 2023, this program has changed.*************

Please refer to the updated blog found here: STAY CURRENT WITH SAP IBP CERTIFICATION

******************************************************************************************************

If you are a consultant certified in SAP Integrated Business Planning (SAP IBP), this blog is very important to you, especially the Q&A section below. If you do not follow the Stay Current program requirements launching with SAP IBP release 2105, you will lose your certification and badge validity, requiring that you re-certify.

About the SAP IBP Stay Current with Global Certification Program

The ‘stay current’ delta content and assessment(s) for SAP IBP are available to external customers and partners only via the SAP Learning Hub. If you are currently holding an SAP IBP certification, you must successfully complete the stay current content and the relevant assessment before each quarter’s deadline. Global Certification will send you an email upon every release, announcing the beginning of a new Stay Current cycle with relevant information and deadlines. Please read that email carefully.

In order to maintain your certification credential, you MUST hold a valid individual SAP Learning Hub subscription and complete all future quarterly delta assessments on time; this is especially important as every customer-facing consultant is expected to hold a certification for SAP IBP.

Completing your Self-Paced Delta Training and Assessment:

Subscribers of SAP Learning Hub (Professional edition or solution edition for IoT and Digital Supply Chain) can review ‘stay current‘ delta course(s) and complete the stay current assessment(s) by following the process below:

  • Review the SAP IBP Learning Journey where you will find your core certification exam in the ‘Become competent’ scenario. Then, select the Stay Current course that is assigned to your exam and learning journey. The assessment itself is in the Stay Current delta course as well as a separate link in the learning journey Stay Current tile.

  • Alternatively, if you already know what stay current course and assessment are assigned to your exam, log in to SAP Learning Hub, navigate to ‘Learning Content’, and there you can search for “SAP IBP 2202” (or later release) and the relevant stay current programs will be shown. Please keep in mind that the last 4 digits will change quarter over quarter.

Reminders from Global Certification:

  • Reminder 1: SAP Global Certification will send you an announcement about the Stay Current program on the date when the stay current content and assessment of any given release are available, prompting you to start the stay current process.

  • Reminder 2: Afterwards, Global Certification will follow up with an email reminder 4 weeks prior to your deadline to ensure that you do not miss it.

It’s that simple. Please find more information on the SAP IBP Stay Current & Delta Schedule and how to stay current with your certification pages on the training shop.

New to SAP IBP Certification?

It is necessary that you have an SAP Learning Hub subscription in order to maintain your certification quarter over quarter. If you have not yet subscribed to SAP Learning Hub (Professional edition or solution edition for IoT and Digital Supply Chain): navigate to the Professional, Partner or the IoT and DSC edition in the SAP Training Shop and complete your purchase of either edition. All currently and future certified professionals MUST have a valid SAP Learning Hub user account to maintain certifications and badges for the SAP IBP exams with no exceptions.

Upon receipt of your SAP Learning Hub credentials…

  • Log into SAP Learning Hub, professional edition or solution edition, and select the Learning Journeys navigation on the top left.

  • Select ‘SAP IBP” using the Filter or type ‘SAP IBP’ to view the learning journey.

  • Join the SAP Integrated Business Planning Learning Room for expert guidance and live sessions.

  • Use the links in your learning journey course tiles to assign content to your learning plan and prepare for your core exam.

  • When appropriate, select the ‘stay current‘ scenario and assign to your learning plan the delta content and assessment for the core exam you have passed and want to maintain.

Q&A Section

Q: When will the stay current delta content and assessments for the exams be available in the SAP Learning Hub for me to complete?

A: The Stay Current content and assessments will be available on RTC in every quarter. You have until the subsequent release RTC date to complete the assessment and maintain your credential and badge: e.g. to stay current on the 2202 release, you have from Feb 2, 2022 until May 3, 2022 to pass the assessment assigned to your core exam(s). This logic is used quarter over quarter as the general rule.

Q: Will I receive any reminders or notifications from SAP Global Certification when these assessments are available?

A: Yes, you will receive an announcement via email that the latest Stay Current content and assessment is now available on the SAP Learning Hub, and then you will receive a reminder approximately 4 weeks prior to the deadline so that you do not miss the opportunity to keep your credential and badge.

Q: What happens if I do NOT complete the assessment during the stay current period, missing the deadline?

A: Your SAP IBP certification credential will expire, and your badge will show your status as expired. There is no grace period, so please mark your calendars accordingly to log onto the SAP Learning Hub and complete your stay current requirements. Once your certification credential expires, you will be required to re-book and re-take the Certification exam, to obtain a fresh Certificate / fresh Digital badge. This re-certification attempt will count towards your available certification attempts regardless of whether you are using the SAP Certification Hub or the free 2 takes that comes with the SAP Learning Hub Solution Edition for IoT and Digital Supply Chain.

Q: I don’t currently have a subscription/account for the SAP Learning Hub Professional or DSC & IoT Solution edition but am already certified in SAP IBP. What happens if I do not purchase a valid subscription when SAP IBP 2105 releases, for example?

A: The assessments are tracked by SAP Learning Hub user subscription account, so you will not be able to maintain your certification starting with the 2105 release unless you personally log into SAP Learning Hub with a valid user account. This is the only way to access the ‘stay current’ materials and the assessments to maintain your certification credential every quarter.

Q: Will each one of the assessments count as an exam take with my Certification Hub subscription or with the bundled 2-exam takes in the SAP Learning Hub solution edition?

A: No. The stay current assessment uses SAP Learning Hub web assessments, and these are part of your SAP Learning Hub subscription.

Q: I just passed the SAP IBP exam on 2202. Do I need to pass the SAP IBP Stay Current assessment on 2202 (the same release as the exam) right away before the 2202 deadline?

A: No, you are already current. You will start your Stay Current journey with the 2205 release of the product, for example.

Q: I represent a partner company and am responsible for ensuring the SAP IBP Sell Authorizations remain valid for my company. Does the stay current program apply to my organization as well and my organization’s SAP IBP Sell Authorizations?

A:  Yes, the Solution Consultant requirement of the SAP IBP Sell Authorizations also requires your resource (that is maintained in the PartnerEdge PRM tool who holds the Solution Consultant requirement) to also follow the Stay Current with SAP Global Certification Program approach.

Q: I am an SAP Partner organization. What happens if my Solution Consultant (maintained in the PartnerEdge PRM tool) fails to “stay current” for any given quarter?

A: During the Semi- annual PRM check, if your resource is indicated to have failed to stay current, your organization’s Sell Authorization will be demoted to “At Risk”. Ideally at this point, you must ensure to inform the consultant that he/she must re-certify if the time lapse is greater than 3 months or complete the missed “Stay Current: assessment, so that your organization’s Sell Authorization can revert back to “Authorized”. If your resource fails to complete the “Stay Current” assessment at this point, during the next round of PRM check, your organization will lose your SAP IBP Sell Authorization.

Thank you,
SAP Global Certification

Hi Regina,

Thank you for your excellent blog.
I belong to a Partner organization, and I have IBP certifications (1908 & 2005).
I have three questions as below.

1. If I fail to "stay current" for 2105, Which version's certification will be expired, or both 1908 & 2005 will be expired?

2. Also, my colleagues are planning to acquire the IBP certification.
Does SAP have any plan to release the new certification exam such as 2105 or 2108 near future?

3. Do we have to take all IBP's "stay current" program from 2008 to 2105 or only 2105 via SAP Hub?

Hi yuji.nomoto ,

  1. Certifications don't retire, they become outdated and irrelevant in the marketplace.

  2. Yes, updated exams for the current release will be made available approx. 6 weeks after RTC. In the case of C_IBP_2105, it will be available on or before June 18th. You can see the planned future availability dates of quarterly updated certification exams here. Scroll about half-way down the page to see the schedule. C_IBP_2108 will be available by Sept. 17th. Future updates will be published to that page as the information becomes available.

  3. If you already have the 1908 or 2005 certification, you only need to take the Stay Current Assessment for 2105. Note that this assessment may contain questions from prior releases 2008, 2011 and 2102 as well. This assessment has 25 questions, but future assessments will have around 15 questions only.

I hope I have answered all your questions. Let me know if you have any others. Good luck with your Stay Current Assessment!

Hi Regina,

Thank you for the great information.

I have two questions.

  1. If I fail the assessment, how many times can I retry it?

  2. Is it possible to take both C_IBP_2105 and Stay Current Assessment for 2105?

Ryoma

Also, I have already watched some webinars on time.

Can we take the assessment without watching all the webinars?

  1. You can attempt the assessment as often as you wish, until you pass. There are no additional fees or subscriptions required to take the quarterly assessments to stay current.

  2. There is no need to do both. If you already have a previous IBP certification, you only need to take the 2105 assessment to stay current and retain your certified status. If you prefer to take the C_IBP_2105 exam (which hasn't been released yet), you can do so. You will only have 3 attempts at this one and you will need a subscription to CER001-One Exam Attempt or CER006-Certification-6 Exam Attempt

Best regards,

Regina
Hi Ryoma,

Yes, you can take the Assessment without completing the training but you are missing the opportunity to enhance your knowledge and truly stay current with the solution and its new features. Otherwise you are doing yourself and your customers a disservice. You have until early August to complete the Assessment for 2105 so I would recommend you complete the Stay Current content for 2105 first, and then attempt the Assessment.

Good luck!

Regina

Hi Regina,

Thanks for your valuable information!

I have passed the SAP IBP 2105 delta assessment, I have two questions:

  1. Do I have to do something to update the certificate? or will my certification update automattically? How could I know if my certification wont become outdated and irrelevant? I would like to be sure.

  2. Will my badge update to 2105, I mean I get SAP IBP 2002 certification, will It change?

Thanks again!!

Hi @Juan,

  1. No you don't have to do anything. You should receive an email in about 5-7 days confirming your certification is still current.

  2. Your badge will be updated to state you are current for the calendar year 2021. However, if you do not also take the 2108 assessment, you will lose your certification status.

Congratulations on completing your assessment and thanks for staying current!

Best regards,

Regina

Thanks Regina.

Last question:

Do I have to confirm completion of the (IBPCONS_SC_EN_2105)? or just with complete assesment is  enough.

Hi @Juan,

Just to be on the safe side, I would recommend you confirm the completion.

Congratulations,

Regina

Hi regina.gama ,

Thanks for the info on IBP certifications. I have a question.

If I have a certification IBP 1711, can I still do only Stay Current IBP 2105 & maintain my certification as current ?

I got am email as attached. Can you pl. confirm that by doing only Stay current eLearning & assessment for 2105, I will be able to maintain my status.

Thanks in Advance

Hi rahul.agarwal008 ,

Yes, once you complete your 2105 Assessment, you will be considered certified and current. However, you will need to continue to take the quarterly assessments (2108, 2111, etc.) in order to stay current and retain your certified status.

Good luck!

Regina

Hello @Juan Acosta,

You should receive a notification email 5 days after passing the Assessment.

You can also check your certification status and badge in Credly, if you signed up.

Regina,

When passed 2105, when will there be a new stay current certification?

Is there a new link for stay current 2108 / 2111 and so on. I did not get any reminder for that exam.
