More than 200 professors from the top 50 Engineering and Business colleges attended the SAP Faculty Day on 14th June 2013 at SAP Labs Bangalore. This event was jointly hosted by SAP Labs HR Recruitment and SAP University Alliances. Before this Faculty day started we had 2 day intensive TrainTheTrainer 3 workshops in parallel organised by SAP UA India at SAP Labs Bangalore namely Introduction to SAP HANA course where around 20 professors from different institutes were trained by Professor SVK Bharathi (SCIT), Secondly Design Thinking was imparted by Dr.Christopher Han who came down all the way from Palo Alto SAP Labs and Crispian Tan Regional Director SAP UA APJ, and lastly Ann Rosenberg HEAD UA gave training to more than 15 professors on Agile Project Management
Anirban Dey MD SAP Labs India started this important event by his keynote welcoming all the guests to SAP Labs Bangaloreand later on professors were able to hear keynotes by Dr.Jeffrey Word Global Leader and Author in Enterprise Software systems and he spoke on SAP HANA systems and its capabilities and I was surprised to know how it will become the future technology and how it will change the fastly evolving business dynamics for SAP customers and its customers, and then there was another good speaker from SAP Mr.
Sunder Madakshira Vice President - Marketing and Communications - SAP, India at SAP spoke about the older ways of marketing which is still intact and which still holds value in this ever changing business environments and how old is still gold. Then another inspiring note which I am sure might have inspired many people like us came from Mr. VR Ferose, SAP Labs India previous MD where he talked about his personal childhood experiences where he stressed that it’s not necessary to be academically good to be successful rather we should have the required skills which will take us places and he also talked about how SAP hires 1% of its total hiring for people affected with asperger's syndrome Ann Rosenberg, Head of Global SAP University Alliances spoke about the LEARN-APPLY –SHARE model
of SAP University Alliances
and she also appointed four students from Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology ,Pune who are currently also interning with SAP , as SAP UA student ambassadors for the very 1st time in India. She also welcomed new schools namely MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Chitkara University, Saveetha University and ABV Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management to SAP University Alliances ambit.

To conclude, I got valuable insights into the HR Recruitment plans, challenges and requirements with regard to IT graduates in India . In addition, many of them who are not yet UA members learned more on the SAP university Alliances program. To summarize the event, it was a nostalgic moment for both the professors and the alumni (SAP Labs employees) who met at this event for a special session
