It’s no secret: Technology is changing faster than most businesses can manage. Well-trained talent is increasingly scarce, and digital skills gaps keep getting wider. To keep up with the ongoing changes in talent and technology, both learners and organizations need to be agile and adaptive to keep pace with the competition.

At SAP, our mission is to create opportunity through learning and development for all. And with the need for fast and comprehensive upskilling, we are transforming our SAP Certification program, making continuous learning a priority. That way, you can always prove you’re up-to-date with the latest innovations.

Here’s what this means for you:

Get certified with trusted certifications, tailored to your role.

Transforming our certification approach means making things easier for you. Demonstrate intermediate or advanced skills with out of over 80 globally recognized role- and product-based certifications across key SAP solution innovation areas. Focusing on the core skills and competencies, our role-based certifications, like this one for SAP S/4HANA Cloud implementation consultants, make your skillset more valuable as it gains sustainability and more relevance for longer periods of time.
Good news: the enhanced SAP Learning Hub includes four certification exam attempts per subscriber per year and all learning resources to prepare for the certification exams. In addition, you can also purchase one or six SAP Certification exam attempts to get certified.

Stay certified and keep your skills up to date with the latest innovations.

As a second step in our certification transformation, we are focusing on opportunities for you to keep your skills sharp. As of this April, certified learners need to continuously keep their skills up-to-date and certifications valid with evolving products by completing mandatory assessments before their certification expires. With an SAP Learning Hub subscription, you can prepare for and take the stay certified assessments at any time during the validity period of your certification.

The standard validity of certifications is 12 months, with an initial validity end date of March 31, 2025. Every time you complete an assessment to stay certified, the validity period extends by 12 months. Easy enough, right?

For sure! So, this is how you can keep your certifications valid:

  1. Log into the ‘My Learning’ page with your SAP Universal ID (Note: your SAP Universal ID must be linked with a secondary email account from another email domain provider)
  2. With a click on “Certifications” section you will find your passed certification(s) with the respective validity date.
  3. Access the enablement materials that are linked to prepare for the stay certified assessment. You need an SAP Learning Hub subscription to access stay certified assessment.
  4. Take the stay certified assessment linked to your certification. Once successfully passed, the new validity date of your certification will be updated.

If you are already certified in an SAP solution, you will receive a personalized email informing you about the required next steps to ensure that you don’t miss your certification expiry date. So don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

We truly believe that the redesigned SAP Certification program will make it easier and faster for you to get and stay certified, to identify next career steps and goals, and ensure you have the latest skills and valid credentials on the newest SAP innovations tailored to your role and responsibility. With a subscription to the enhanced SAP Learning Hub, you can have access to all the learning resources you need to get and stay certified in one place. So why don’t you set yourself up for success?

Dear @Suzanne_Heiob,

Thank you for quick reply.

Let me confirm one more thing. For example, when it comes to Employee Central, at what points do exam details(questions) change or update? Is it after a half-year release, or is there no specific timing and exam are addressed as updates occur? According your previous answer, does it not related to half year release or any event?

Best regards,
Naoki

@Suzanne_Heiob

I have checked the  alternative certification list and my certification P_SAPEA is listed as "Available Certification".

However, it is not visible on SAP Learning so I cannot access the stay certified assessment.  My universal ID is setup correctly.

Is there an alternative way to get access to the stay certified assessment so it can be completed on-time?

Hi @Rebecca_Bottomley,

please get certified in SAP Certified Professional - SAP Enterprise Architect | SAP Learning first. After passing this certification it will appear on SAP Learning - My Learning - Certification with the link to the stay certified assessement.

Hello, how much do I need to pay in order to take the stay certified assessment linked to my certification? Is it free?

Thank you,

Hello @valeria_ortolan,

to take the assessement the SAP Learning Hub subscription is needed.

The price depends on if you take the SAP Learning Hub, professional edition or the SAP Learning Hub, partner edition.

Both can be bought via the SAP Store here: SAP Learning Hub | Your Online E-Learning Enablement Platform

Hi @Suzanne_Heiob , Thanks for writing this blog.

I cleared the SAP Global Utilities ERP6.0 Certification back in march 2022, but i can't see "stay certified assessment" in "My Activity". What should i do in this case?

I checked SAP Certification Portfolio, it doesn't have any related Utilities S/4HANA certification yet.

Please advice.

Thanks,

Hi @Suzanne_Heiob , thank you.

My company has already bought the subscriptions to SAP Learning Hub. Do we need to pay any extra to take the stay certified assessment? And do we need to pay any extra in case we need to do a new certification?

Thanks, Valeria

Hi @valeria_ortolan ,

No, you do not need to make an additional payment. You can take the Stay Certified assessment directly. If you need to obtain a new certification, there is also no extra charge as long as you have an active SAP Learning Hub subscription.

Hello @Suzanne_Heiob and community,

it's me again! I have another question for you.

I bought my SAP Learning Hub subscription and I see that I have 4 included certification exam attempts per year to get and stay certified.

But I also know that to stay certified I can do an assessment that has unlimited attempts.

So I don't understand...are 4 attempts only to get a new certification? and unlimited attempst to stay certified?

Please, let me know. Thank you.

Hello @Suzanne_Heiob ,

this blog is very useful as a Company we are having 33 consultants certification set to expire on 31 March 2025, but on our Partnership portal Stay Certified Column says completed, however the expiration date set to 31.03.2025.

###################################################################

When we check with the SAP Team...below is the reply we have received it..Stay Certification Query.jpg

Here you can see on the right hand side that some people have completed this cert.

For the ones listed as ‘in process’ they will need to complete the stay certified training before March 3st or they will need to completely re-do their solution trainings.

#######################################################################

Could you please confirm, this is correct?

Thanks,

Kumar

Hello @kumar_palaniasari,

yes on SAP For Me not the correct due dates are shown: For those that see a completed they should be fine.

For those that show an " in-process" they have to pass the assessment to stay certified or need to get certified in the recommended alternative certification in case this certification is not migrated into get and stay certified. For example, C_BASD is already retired, and those learners need to get certified in C_CPE.

Kind Regards, Suzanne

@Suzanne_Heiob , thanks for your quick response, Just to confirm that, some of them not done stay certification assessment yet, but its still says the Stay certification status completed and on our actual My certification page the the stay certification Due date shown as 1st Apr 2025, please see the screen shot below,

Does that mean we need to do this by 31st March 2025 correct?

due date.jpg

Manu Thanks,

Kumar

Also where do we see the actual due dates for everyone and is that Stay Certification status Completion status still valid, when the expiry date is 31/05/2025

Thanks,

Kumar

@kumar_palaniasari  Hi, yes, correct in this case, they have to pass the assessment to further extend the validity.

Learning Managers with a Learning Hub Partner subscription and a reporting role can use the analytics dashboard to see the certification status and validity dates of their employees.

Hi @Suzanne_Heiob

Am trying to extend my certification by clicking on Stay Certified as mentioned in above steps.

Unfortunately it doesn't allow and navigates to buy the learning hub subscription.

When I try to buy the learning hub subscription ,it doesn't give me an option to get certified as an individual. My certificates are expiring in a month. Could you please guide me the best approach in this case?

Thanks&Regards

I have 4 certifications that I have studied up for and passed.  They will all be up for assessment at the end of March.  Since there were no further certifications I needed, my company did not renew my learning hub subscription.

When I try to challenge the assessments, I am taken to a page that asks me to subscribe to the Learning Hub.  I don't want to subscribe to the Learning Hub as there is nothing new there that I wish to take courses in.

Am I being forced to pay $1800cdn a year just to have the opportunity to keep my certifications valid?  Is there no other options to keep my certifications valid?

Why are my certifications being valid completely dependent on a subscription to a portal I don't even want access to?

Hi @Suzanne_Heiob

I have taken and passed the SAP Analytics Cloud stay certified assessment, however when I go to "manage certification" the "stay certified due" date have changed to April 1, 2025. Is this some kind of error? Shouldn't it show the extended date?

Please let me know if I'm missing some step to do.

Thanks in advance!

Fran.

This happened with me as well.

The process I followed was I raised a support ticket to SAP sharing my certificate details which is available in the learning history. The dates were extended immediately.

@Suzanne_Heiob ,

can you please help - I am not able to find link to take the assessment to stay certified for SuccessFactors EC Core. I have accessed 'My Certifications', clicked on 'Manage certification' and clicked on 'Self-paced course' to complete the learning.

Coming back to 'My certifications', and clicking on 'Take Assessment' then 'Stay Certified' - now I am taken to SAP Learning Hub, where there is nowhere to take the 'stay certified assessment': SAP Learning Hub | Your Online E-Learning Enablement Platform

Can you please advise? My certification expires in couple of weeks. Thank you very much.

Hi @PetraRana, unfortunately, I cannot look into your data based on your community profile, so please reach out to support. There is no technical issue documented so if you have a valid Learning Hub subscription you should reach the assessment. I know that there was a issue on friday but that got solved Friday evening already. Can you maybe ensure that your user really has a valid Learning Hub subscription (you should see this in the "Subscriptions" section in My learning ) and if yes please try again? If it is not working again then please open a support ticket. Thanks!

Hi @AntonioNieto

This is a retired certification that cannot be kept valid anymore.

Please see SAP Certification finder:

There is a recommendation to get certified in SAP Certified Associate - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, Fina.

Hi @Suzanne_Heiob

I have recently taken and passed/completed the "Stay Certified" assesment for SAC.  However when I go to "Manage certification" on the my-learning page, the "Stay certified due" date is still saying Apr 1, 2025. And when I go to "View certification", the www.credly.com badge is showing as expiring on March 31, 2025.

When can I expect these dates to be updated?

(PS If I go to "Take assessment" again, it tells me the course was already completed.)

Hi @Suzanne_Heiob ,

Since I obtained the C_TFIN52 certification in 2019, I haven't received any notification that this certification would be retired.

However, I have received several emails informing me of the possibility of taking an alternative exam to renew my certification.

However, when I go to my certifications, it no longer appears. As the screenshot you showed me clearly states, my certification expires on March 31, 2025, and it suggests taking the alternative exam.

Please, can you tell me how I can take the alternative exam to renew my certification, instead of having to obtain a new certification?

Best regards,
Antonio Nieto

Hi @AntonioNieto

what is meant is that this certification C_TFIN52 is not in the portfolio anymore and for this expires. The alternative certification is a recommendation to take in order to keep the certified status but it is another certification than C_TFIN52 so you need to get certified.

You can schedule the slot for the recommended alternative via  SAP Certified Associate - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, Fina
via pressing the "Schedule exam" button:

Hi @jobi_joseph_20221031

so you mean you do not find the certification listed in your profile on My Learning -> Certification?

In this case please check if your SAP Universal ID has all users assigned that you used to pass a certification in the past.

Dear Experts,

Its been almost 3 months i have been spending at least 30-60 minutes every day just to keep active couple of my Certifications which are going to expiry on 31st April if i do not take Saty Current assessment.

I do not have SAP LH subscription however, i have taken the access from my company (Partner Subscription) to take the assessment. Through this access they have created one S User ID which is linked to my Universal ID and using S user Login i can see my Certifications which are going to expiry on 31st April 2025 and i have completed the Learning to take the assessment. Now issue is system is not taking me to the Assessment page to take the assessment.

I have Wrote to SAP Parner help they are routing me to Learning support team and i have created multiple cases to Learning Support team they are just attaching some Video/Links which is not solving my problem. If i do Live chat or call on the number i am getting response they are not the right team.

My Experience with SAP is pathetic in this case and now i am out of options how to complete the assessments. Just a week left..

I know that our support is very busy these days but nevertheless the support is the right channel for you to get help. I am sure they will reach out to you asap.

This seems like a major money grab as it is now tied to an active Learning Hub account. This makes it a barrier to those with income shortfalls that are paying out of pocket to try and break into the job market that can't afford the almost $1,300 annual price tag.

I am also running into a problem where I have a certificate on a P-User but just got my LH access to recertify, however it had to be applied to my S-User through work, but I am unable to recertify as it is requiring LH access on the P-User where the cert is. I thought the Universal ID would cover this. So now I do not have enough time and my certificate will expire because it is far too difficult to maintain multiple User IDs and certifications among them.

Hi @Suzanne_Heiob, thanks for the detailed post.

I hope you can shed some light on an issue I'm having scheduling my exam. My SAP Business one certification expired, and unfortunately, I missed the 'Stay Certified' period. Based on your post and the "How to Stay Certified"  article in the learning hub, I need to take the exam and pass it again.

My issue is that I can't schedule a new appointment for the certification in the exam dashboard. As I've already passed this certification in the past, no scheduling icon is available. SAP Support hasn't been helpful at all, and it looks like they don't really know what they're doing as their final reply to my issue was that there is no technical issues with the scheduling site and that I already took the certification exam before therefore I won't be able to take it again. This statement totally contradicts what your post and the SAP learning hub state about recertification. I'm wondering if you have any insights on my situation and how can I address it in order to be able to get certified again.

Thank you!
