There is excitement in the air at the SAP Headquarters here in Walldorf as we gear up for the upcoming SAP Academic conference EMEA on the 10th- 11th of September. With some of the greatest minds from institutions of higher education across Europe, the Middle East and Africa the conference is sure to bring about some amazing learning experiences and generate first class collaborations.
We look forward to greeting over 350 academics, who are all ready to engage with SAP University Alliances and embrace the innovative implementation of SAP programs in Universities and other institutions of higher education globally. The event will kick off with several keynote speakers and presentations from notable thought leaders in SAP and the academic world such as Dr. Larry Leifer, the Founding Director of the Center for Design Research at Stanford University and is also Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, Dr. Tanja Rückert, the Executive Vice President of Internet of Things & Customer Innovation at SAP SE, and Dr. Bernd Welz Executive Vice President and Head of Scale, Enablement and Transformation, SAP SE. The Keynote speakers will give participants a unique and useful insight into the concept of “Preparing the Future Workforce for the Digital Enterprise,” which is the theme of this, our vicennial, Academic Conference.
Following the keynote speakers, participants will be treated to an afternoon of breakout tracks on a wide variety of topics such as Education for the Digital Transformation, Research & Co-Innovation, Entrepreneurship, SAP for Schools, Industrie 4.0 and Internet of Things, and Analytics and Data Science. The breakout tracks are conducted in the form of panel discussions, which provides top qualities expert advice with a natural flow.
Similarly, topic tables in the exhibition hall will offer the opportunity to meet SAP University Alliances stakeholders and get insights into new products and curriculum projects in a vibrant one-on-one marketplace atmosphere. A particular advantage of the event taking place in Walldorf is that every table will be hosted by an SAP or subject matter expert so that we can offer our participants the most accurate and up to date information.
Over the past years the breakout sessions have become a real hallmark of the modern and dynamic spirit of the SAP Academic conference because they allow participants to learn about new programs and initiatives in a distinctly personal setting. This year will continue the tradition and offer breakout sessions on Thursday, September 10, prior to the evening event of the conference. Breakout sessions are a fast-paced hands on way to get up to speed with the latest curriculum and innovation topics in just three hours!
One of the particular highlights of the conference, that we are especially looking forward to, is the elaborate dinner at the Heidelberg castle on the night of the 10th. Guests will be transported from the cutting-edge and modern world of SAP Headquarters to the historic Heidelberg Castle, where a meal will be waiting for them in the grand ballroom. Following the meal, history will be brought to life as guides in period costumes lead the guests on a tour of the castle and her many ruins.
With so many wonderful learning opportunities on offer this year, we can hardly wait for the SAP Academic Conference to begin! Eager to join in? Registration is still open for the SAP Academic Conference EMEA 2015, apply here: http://events.sap.com/de/academic-conference-walldorf/en/home/
