Several weeks ago, in the middle of a class, (apropos to nothing I had said all week), a participant asked me why she couldn't simply run a delivered report to find employees who hadn't booked into a particular course during the first half of the year.  She went on to say that she also expected a standard delivered report to provide a list of employees who didn't have the E-mail subtype of the Communications infotype, as well as a list of all employees who were receiving checks using the Main Bank subtype of the Bank Details infotype.  And she didn't stop there.  She had an entire wish list, all of which sounded reasonable to me.

So I said "wouldn't it be nice if you could create reports to do all of that?"  She told me, and the other participants, that her company didn't have a person who knew ABAP - and also had enough time - to construct them for her.  My response was "you can learn how to create them yourself".  She was silent for several moments, before saying that her company would probably not want an HCM analyst to learn ABAP.

I told her that if she took our HR580 Analytics and Reporting in HCM course, that she'd learn the skills to create the reports she wanted, without needing to learn ABAP.

I explained that as long as she was a member of a User Group, had an appropriate Infoset, and a good understanding of Set Operations within the Ad Hoc Query, that she could quickly create these reports and others.  She could even save them, and allow another user to run them as needed, once they were constructed.

We teach how to create these User Groups and assign Users to them.  We teach how to create Infosets and assign them to User Groups.  We teach the Ad Hoc Query.  We teach Set Operations within the Ad Hoc Query.  We teach the SAP Query.  We teach the importance of dates on the Selection Screen as well as how Time Constraints can impact the data.  Where do we teach this?  In HR580 Analytics and Reporting in HCM.

Think of the value you can add to your company by giving management a list of employees who were supposed to book into a particular course during the first half of the year, but didn't do so.  Think of the data integrity you can add to your system if you can find people for whom certain subtypes of infotypes don't exist, when your company policy is that every employee has that subtype.  you can do all of that and more.

All it takes is 3 days of your time to participate in HR580 Analytics and Reporting in HCM.
