This is my first blog, and I just wanted to have some fun with it. (Every two lines should rhyme)
When you see an opportunity, take the chance
For you do not know the difference it will make, good or bad
But trust and hope, and continue to dream big
That the opportunity you take will be well worth the risk
It started at the SAPPHIRE conference, in the beginning of May
Hopped on the plane to Orlando, didn't know what would happen next
A week in Florida, it was definitely fun
Didn't know my life would be changed in less than a month
From speakers to presentations, from demos to networking
I learned so much from the week, the conference was breath-taking
So many people were there, it was a sight to see
My eyes were opened to a whole new world of possibilities
But as amazing as everything was, there was one specific highlight
The signing of Project Propel is what truly changed my life
Many people were planning, thinking of minorities just like me
Youth with talent, but not many opportunities
Project Propel will change that, one student at a time
Skills + talents = opportunities, a movement has begun
I was the fist lady of the project, and Julian the the King
DSU, BEN, SAP, & ASUG, one big family, one great team
This movement starts with us but it is going to change the world
Every second is important, what a great future is in store
From student to student, from school to school
DSU is ready to do a great job as the center of excellence for all of the HBCUs
I am honored to be here, this is a dream come true
Never thought I would have the chance to both work and go to school
SAP is in awesome company and this project is grand
This is sure to change the lives of families, friends, and generations
