Preparing Global Leaders Summit is a 7-day premiere leadership program designed for students and young professionals (under 35) around the world to challenge the conventional ways of thinking about leadership.

Our specific strategy is to help participants maximize their potential and develop leadership and communication skills. The program seeks to prepare aspiring global scholar-leaders with the tools that are necessary for effective leadership in an increasingly complex world.

Oxford and Georgetown professors will teach courses on leadership, communication, geopolitics, political economy and psychology while top visiting scholars will lecture on nationalism, civil war and international security. Delegates will also participate in a range of leadership simulations and cultural exchanges with students from every corner of the globe.

Courses:

Sam Potolicchio: “Leadership and Communication”
Harry Verhoeven: “The Political Economy of Development: from colonialism to the post-Washington Consensus”, “Emerging Powers and the New World Order”
Branden Thornhill-Miller: "Psychology for Global Leaders: Understanding Ourselves and Challenges of the Modern World"

Simulations:

Parliamentary Simulation: Institute delegates will be responsible in drafting legislation for a newly formed country. Delegats will be divided into opposing teams of 10 and will write legislation on selected issues. The opposing teams will debate over the bills and the institute delegates will vote to on the debated legislation.

Speechmaking Simulation: Institute delegates will be given an issue prompt to write and present a speech that the leader of the country must deliver on the world stage.

Geopolitical Strategy Simulation: Institute delegates will advise a world leader on a delicate issue of foreign affairs.
Social Media and Campaign Advertising Simulation: Institute delegates will utilize a suite of Web 2.0 tools to respond an unfolding political situation and build a campaign message in real-time.

The program cost: 900 USD. However, a number of scholarships are available. Due to the high amount of applications, only those received before the priority deadline (May 15) will be considered for the scholarship. Tuition, study materials, housing, daily breakfast and lunch, two formal dinners, and visa support is included in the cost of the program.
