Hello,

I have prepared a Precautionary Tips for Fresh Graduates for SAP Career - Consulting. Fresh Graduates includes both Technical and Functional Graduates

(B.E's/B.Tech's, MCA's, M.Sc's, M.Tech's, B.COM's, BCA's, B.Sc's, MBA's, CA's, ICWA's).

If you have zeal and interest to excel in SAP then you need to follow only one SAP Domain no matter whether Developer (SAP ABAP) or Configuration (SAP Functional Modules).

SAP Industry requires SAP Domain experts especially for SAP Consultant Roles with SAP Partners. SAP Domain means SAP Project Experience.

After getting your first role you will surely come to know what I meant to say.

In the past years Programmers were there in SAP but now situation is totally different, it requires Enterprise Application Experts with full Authority.

Note: This information I got from Source One Management Services Pvt Ltd Bangalore.

Facts of SAP Jobs:

Since I have been watching SAP Companies for more than 2 years, I wanted to tell every Fresh Graduates about this fact to avoid un wanted breaks or shifts in career. I wanted to give an alert to every beginner.

*SAP didn't always stand for 'Systems, Applications & Products in data processing?

*Initiated in 1972, SAP initially stood for Systemanalyse und Programmentwicklung i.e. 'System Analysis and Program Development'.

Don't go by normal domain experience there are chances of getting stuck in career which will surely result in break and gap in career.

You have to face problem.

If you go by domain experience other than SAP. And after 2 years you will be again `Fresher’ in SAP.

Instead of domain experience you can directly enter in SAP Consultant roles. For this you need to put lot of home work, assignments, and work hard.

I mean to say get trained in SAP at lower cost and get entry into Authorized Training if you are willing to do so. Or you have to join companies who give self support basis project which is again investment.

Getting End User Roles are also difficult now. It’s very hard to find End User Job now. If at all you get End User Roles, You have to trace out the companies which accept this experience. End User Experience must be in Full, single sub module experience is not accepted by companies. The chances of getting SAP Consultant roles with End User experiences are only 2%. As an End User if you have worked in SAP Project during implementation then it is a Plus point.

It’s not a story again. It’s a Fact of SAP. From 2000 - 2006 Normal Domain experience were considered by SAP Companies. From 2007-08 they started asking SAP Project Experience Support/Implementation. Now also companies expect SAP Project Experience.  Focus on SAP with Authorization (Certification - Associate Level). SAP Associate Level Certification is a Foundation Stone for your SAP Consulting Career with SAP Companies.

You don't have to think of other experiences. Focus on SAP Skill set. I have been getting mails from some members of SCN - Freshers, they are getting confused on how to Start SAP Consulting Career. So I have to post this blog for every Fresh Graduate. As a Fresh Graduate I have stepped into SAP after finding out the loopholes and gaps. I just tried to map a path by myself and it came true for me after struggles. Now only 1/4th portion is left out for me to succeed here in Silicon Valley - Bangalore.

Think and Decide before stepping into SAP World

I hope this will be helpful for every Graduate across the world. I have more thoughts for Freshers, will share it soon.

Regards

Pramila
