 | From April 15th to 21st was the “World Creativity and Innovation Week” and with this framework Universidad del Pacifico (UP), our newest UA member in Latin America, inaugurated an Innovation Lab in order to foster innovation. SAP UA joined the celebration and held a Design Thinking Workshop with 20 engineering students on April 21st The event started with a warm up task, the “Marshmallow Challenge” which helped students to get to know each other and build the assigned teams. Students commented afterwards: “it was difficult to start”, “helped us to consider different ideas”, “we had little time”, “it was tough to decide from each idea we will start” |
The event was focused on Smart cities, and the selected challenge was to improve the traffic in Lima, the participants had to defined a ‘persona’, describe the ‘customer journey’, prioritizes the ideas and finally build a prototype. The 3 hour workshop was led by Ana Isabel Rojas, SAP Design Thinking Champion for Latin America, and supported by fellow SAP Peru colleagues: Maria Fernanda Gárate, Brenda Bejar and Monica Ormea. Students’ feedback was outstanding! They were engaged the whole time and monitoring professors were eager to continue with the journey. Some comments received were: “first time that I really work in groups”, “it was like a therapy session to relax and work with people you don’t know”, “it was great to hear your colleague’s ideas and develop those ideas much faster” |
