SAP colleagues inspired to become School Ambassadors

The first SAP Young Thinkers booth in front of the canteen in our headquarter in WDF February 19th 2016 showcased the brand-new IT2school modules and inspired SAP colleagues to become Young Thinkers school ambassadors and make sure their children will benefit at their school form these new learning opportunities.

Gesche Joost, Professor for Design Research at the Berlin University of the Arts, and head of the SAP supervisory board walked by and now is ready to take over the patronage of the IT2School project which supports her ambition to drive digital education.

Everybodycould touch and try modules of the IT2School Project, which was developed by the Wissensfabrik and the University of Oldenburg in co-operation with SAP and other Wissensfabrik member companies. Not just use but understand and develop IT is the goal of the IT2School project. It leads students from daily life to ‘hands-on IT’ and deals with all topics around communication, data, coding, hard- and software, IoT to inspire students and teachers.

Playing the piano with MocoMoco and dough, or see how IoT works with a self-programmed App controlling LED-Lights (BlueCo Light).

Furthermore pictures represented success stories of activities with students coding their first little application with Scratch, being totally fascinated by finding out how the internet works or students having fun in a Design Thinking Workshop with the SAP Young Thinkers Team.

Many SAP colleagues were excited about the idea to bring IT to schools and signed up to become a school ambassador for the SAP Young Thinkers Network.

The SAP Young Thinkers Network aims to inspire students in IT relevant topics like IoT, Coding, Data Analysis, business processes etc.

With the support of our school ambassadors worldwide we will be able to inspire high-school students and schools around the globe and make sure all students have the chance to train skills being relevant for the digital transformation.
