SAP University Alliances is sponsoring the 2013 UK International Conference on Information Systems at Worcester College, University of Oxford on the 19th and 20th March 2013. The UKAIS conference is the premier academic event in the Information Systems calendar within the UK, and attracts leading scholars from the UK and overseas. The Academy was established in 1994 by leading UK academics in Information Systems. It is a charity, whose aims are to enhance the recognition and knowledge of IS within the UK, and to provide a forum for discussing issues in IS teaching and research. UKAIS continues to recognise the importance of including practitioners in its work. SAP University Alliances is sponsoring the event and is also fielding two speakers to engage with the community about the importance of practitioner research and the importance of skills development in teaching and learning as a pre-requisite to being able to undertake quality research. One will be Martin Gollogly, Director of the University Alliances program for UK, Ireland and Benelux as well as Global Branding, Apps and Partner Engagement, the other will be from the significant SAP Apphaus in Dublin, Ireland. Colleagues from Human Resources will also be present to bring together MIS Professors who are interested in identifying internships and placements for their best and brightest students.
