Who can participate?
- Students currently enrolled at German Universities, age 18 and above, can participate in teams of up to 5 members, including captains.
What can you win?
- The Grand Challenge top prize is a trip for the winning team to SAP’s TechEd conference in Europe, November 5-8, where you will demonstrate your winning prototype on center stage. Tablet computers will be awarded to the 2nd place team. Audio headphones will be awarded to the 3rd place team. All teams qualifying for the Grand Challenge will receive SAP VJam Hacker diplomas.
What is the competition format?
- The competition will take place in two Phases. A Mastery Phase and a Grand Challenge Phase. Mastery Phase focuses on developing technical skills necessary to work with SAP’s HANA technology. Twenty teams with the greatest accumulation of points during the Mastery Phase qualify for the Grand Challenge. The Grand Challenge will require teams to develop a fully functional application prototype creatively using a large and complex data set with HANA.
When will the competition take place?
- The competition will begin with a Mastery Phase on April 29th. The Mastery Phase will end on July 26th, with winners (Grand Challenge qualifiers) announced on July 5th. The Grand Challenge will begin on August 19th and end on October 14th, with the top three teams and prizes announced on October 21st.
