Zell am See
The annual event for SAP customers, the SAP Forum, took place at the renowned Porsche Congress Center in Zell am See, in the province of Salzburg.
University professors as well as students had the chance to learn more about SAP innovations or talk to SAP experts ,customers and partners.
The HANA New York Showcase, the design thinking sessions as well as customers, who presented how SAP makes them run their business better, were very well received.
Customers and partners in return learned a lot more about the SAP University Alliances program and the different possibilities to co-innovate with faculties.
This was the first time, too, that Austrian students had the opportunity to take part in the largest customer event. The students participated in the design thinking sessions and deepened their knowledge in SAP HANA, as well as customer cases.
Here are some quotes from participating students:
"Being the largest event for SAP customers in Austria, for me as a student this has been a valuable chance to experience both existing applications of SAP products in Austria’s enterprises, as well as getting an outlook on exciting novel products and appliances. The diversified agenda comprised four parallel breakout sessions featuring talks on a variety of interesting topics, a broad range of meet-the-expert sessions, where personal meetings with SAP experts could be arranged, and funny and insightful hands-on Design Thinking workshops."
- Andrea Salfinger, A report on Austrian SAP Forum 2013
"At the forum I experienced quite a substantial amount of expertized lecturers, charismatic SAP managers, as well as valuable insights in the IT industry’s current hot topics. Especially the current topics with regard to data storage, getting meaningful information out of the massive amount of Big Data being permanently created in social media networks, as well as the possibility to fully integrate ERP systems with each and every device in a corporation with SAP HANA were quite astonishing to me.
Especially the design thinking workshop was strikingly interesting to me. I learned how to analyze any business process and break it down towards the ultimate customer needs to clearly understand the driving forces behind each step taken in fulfilling the customer needs. The workshop was among one of the most interesting experiences I’ve had in my professional career. I highly recommend taking the chance whenever being invited to such a workshop!"
