1. Pädagogisches Landesinstitut Rheinland-Pfalz @ SAP Headquarters Walldorf

On June 12, 2013, 30 teachers from different schools in Germany attended a dedicated Training Day organized by University Alliances and Human Resources at SAP. During the training day SAP employees from different departments talked about new innovations and projects as well as the tasks within their working area.

In order to create a pleasant working atmosphere and to get to know colleagues from other schools, the training day started with a brief introduction round. After presenting themselves the teachers listened to the presentation of Mathias Poppe-Nawabi. By showing concrete and practice-focused examples he illustrated the benefits and concepts of SAP HANA. In addition, he explained the Design Thinking approach and demonstrated the possibility of solving different problems by creating new prototypes in teams with people from various sectors. The following section focused on HR topics at SAP. Lothar Huber and Annika Zühlke presented the development of personal management processes and showcased the process of integrating employees by conducting different surveys as well as establishing special consultation hours for employees.

After visiting the exhibition in the SAP pavilion and the tour around the SAP campus the second part of the training day started with the presentation of Christian Tempel who talked about the Humboldt concept which provides a lot of features like information platform tools. Gerhard Oettinger and Michael Nuernberg presented SAP University Alliances as well as the erp4school program. The event ended with the presentation of Michael Lang who introduced different education programs at SAP to the audience.

Many questions and comments from the teachers showed their interest in the presentations and keynotes. Especially topics like sustainability management as well as the development of programs for creating timetables in schools were discussed.
