Report by India Education bureau, Chennai: Bharath University, a leading academic institution in Tamil Nadu, today announced its collaboration with SAP India to incorporate and deliver SAP curriculum to all its students. Through this partnership, Bharath University will become the first University in Tamil Nadu to offer SAP curriculum to all the students via the SAP SITE LICENSE MODEL.
Each year India produces over 2.5 million university graduates, of which 20 percent are technical graduates. According to a recent NASSCOM report, only 25 percent of these technical graduates are considered employable by IT and ITeS companies. The report also states that India’s IT sector will face a potential shortfall of half a million skilled professionals annually. To address this shortfall, Bharath University seeks to form a strong industry-academia alliance to nurture and further hone student skills.
Announcing the Collaboration, Dr. Sundeep Aanand, Chancellor and President of Bharath University said, “The essential element of a graduate engineer today is his employability. Bharath University is committed to ensure Industry ready students and the Collaboration with SAP India is one such effort in this direction. Similar collaborative efforts have been put in place by the other departments of Bharath University”.
Ms. Mageshwari Ramaiah, Head of SAP Education, SAP India said, “SAP and Bharath University share a common goal of creating a workforce of IT professionals for the 21st century and with this collaboration, we will enable the graduates to enter the workforce with a competitive edge and be welcomed as global professionals with a well-defined career path to follow”.
Mr. Rajeev Agarwala, Head of Atos Education and Training Business said, “Atos is the leading SAP education partner in India and we are happy to partner with Bharat University in providing the students with SAP trainings. Having a strong connect between the industry and the academic curriculum is essential for the overall development of the students. We are confident our association will benefit the students and enhance their career prospects.”
This collaborative effort is a small step in realisation of Bharath University’s vision to develop and blossom the future technocrats and leaders of this Great Nation.
