Be Visual! Sketching Basics for IT Business is coming to openSAP, so wherever you are in the world, you too can improve your sketching and visual communication skills!
This course focuses on using sketching in an IT setting but you can apply the techniques to any part of your life. Be Visual! Sketching Basics for IT Business is a four week course that will cover a variety of sketching situations such as flipchart, whiteboard, copy paper (A4/Letter size), and post-its. The course starts out with the basics of drawing shapes and improving your handwriting. We do encourage you to use paper to practice your new techniques and it would be an advantage if you have access to a flipchart to try out these techniques.
Once you’ve got the basics, we’ll move on to processes and flow charts as well as screen sketches. With these techniques, you can apply your new skills in a professional setting to impress your peers, customers, and management. Next, we move on to choosing the right material for each situation to get your sketches right as well as sketching simple objects to enhance use cases and storyboards. Finally, we’ll move on to sketching people in the right proportion with the appropriate facial expressions and focus on storytelling with visuals.
Over a four week period, you will need to spend 2-3 hours week completing the videos, practicing your new skills, completing your weekly assignments, and discussing related content in the forum with experts and your peers. All tips, tricks, and exercises are practice oriented so they can be applied directly to your daily work tasks.
