On September 25, Smart Labs Competition was successfully hosted in SAP Shanghai Labs. It aims to take a people-centric approach to provide Labs employees with solutions to their everyday problems, and the competition will last for 3 months. There were 60 VT students from 4 top universities including Fudan University, Tongji University, Nanjing University and Southeast University participated on site. Nelly Chen hosted the event, with Mr. Nicolas Leclercq, Mr. Phipps Xue, and Prof. Zhu Hongming from School of Software Engineering, Tongji University to be the honored judges, as well as a special guest Mr. John Lilley, Director of Operations & Projects, Compass China.
The competition included 3 parts: Smart Canteen, Smart Express, and Smart Space. What solutions would be proposed to make the canteen run in a smarter way? How can we make it more simple and efficient to handle with hundreds, sometimes even thousands of mails and expresses delivered to Mailing room? What kind of a creative space or a well-designed working environment could activate employee’s passion and innovation? Each topic has 3 to 5 groups of students to give the proposals. After the ideas show, 3 judges commented on the proposals and provided suggestions to the groups.
At last, 3 groups were announced for The Best Innovation Idea Award of the 3 topics. Every participant enjoyed the competition very much. They shared the wonderful experience and harvest excitedly with each other.
