Following the visit to SAP Walldorf and AppHaus Heidelberg in December 2014, National Central University (NCU), Taiwan, SAP Academic Competence Center (ACC) for Taiwan expressed great interest to learn more on Design Thinking. As a result, it organized and sponsored the Summer Design Thinking Train-the-Trainer workshop in Taipei in August for 15 professors and faculties to learn and experience the Design Thinking process.
This Design Thinking workshop received tremendous support from the NCU Senior Management – Vice President of the University, Professor Kwang-Hwa Li and Dean of the School of Management, Professor Gwo-Ji Sheen, both of whom participated actively in the 2-day workshop. Besides Director of the ACC Taiwan, Ken Chen, faculties from various departments and disciplines – General Education, Information Engineering, Translational and Interdisciplinary Medicine, Law and Government, and Industrial Management - also participated actively in the workshop, making it a diversified experience for all the participants.
After the workshop, Vice President Li and Dean Sheen remarked that NCU would like to incorporate Design Thinking into different schools within the University and build up a Design Thinking Student Club. The University is also earmarking a huge room in a new building for Design Thinking.
