Design thinking is a new way of solving business and technology problems. It is more creative and user-centric approach to problem solving than the traditional design methods. Experts point out that this out-of-the-box thinking defies the obvious and embraces a more experiential approach. It is particularly useful for addressing the so-called ill-defined problems where both the problem and solution are unknown at the onset of the problem-solving process. This methodology has been supported since 1990’s by IDEO, a world-leading design consulting company. It is now refined and widely promoted by the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University (Hasso is the co-founder of SAP). Dr Christopher Han from Palo Alto Labs took his precious time to educate 14 senior faculty heads and UA staff about Design Thinking.
