SAP University Alliances China has successfully sponsored a regional contest of Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) International Collegiate Programming (ICPC) in Chengdu, which located in southwest China. The contest took place at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) during 31st May to 2nd June, 2013. There were more than 150 students (53 teams) from 39 universities in southwest China and around 50 faculties attended it.
The ACM-ICPC is a multitier, team-based, programming competition operating under the auspices of ACM. The contest involves a global network of universities hosting regional competitions that advance teams to the ACM-ICPC World Finals. The contest fosters creativity, teamwork, and innovation in building new software programs, and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure.
Nowadays, the participation of ACM-ICPC has grown to several tens of thousands of the finest students and faculty in computing disciplines at almost 2,330 universities from over 91 countries on six continents. It’s the oldest, largest, and most prestigious programming contest in the world.
The ACM-ICPC event provided an extraordinary opportunity to approach the finest students who are interested in programming, and get in touch with their faculties.
