Mateusz, tell us about yourself.
Who are you, what do you like to do, what is important to you?

I’m Mateusz, born in Poland but spent a good chunk of my life in Ireland where I went to school, University and started my career with SAP. During my professional life I have lived in 3 different countries: Ireland, Germany and Taiwan and since 2019 I’m now living back in Poland.

I enjoy spending time on the water, when the weather allows it – windsurfing, wakeboarding or just chilling out on a boat. In winter, you can probably find me somewhere in the mountains, snowboarding! What’s important to me? Family above all, indeed! But also, peace of mind, having a clear head and on the contrary – challenges! Yeah, I like to be challenged at times. I am not really a fan of living a boring, routine life. This is why I chose the life of an entrepreneur and founded AvoTechs – SAP Development & Consulting Company specialising in S/4HANA & BTP.

What is your area of expertise?
What does a usual day at work look like for you?

I specialise in helping customers during their transformations to S/4HANA and more specifically – in moving their custom code and establishing processes that keep the solutions from running into upgrade-related or high TCO issues in the future. I also help SAP customers understand the new development and extension options (both on S/4HANA as well as on BTP) and help them fit it in their existing processes and work culture.

What inspired you to become an SAP Champion in SAP Community?

The desire to be famous! Haha, just joking. Actually, in 2023 I co-organised SAP Inside Track in Warsaw which is a community event. During the preparation phase, I really appreciated the meaning of being part of the SAP Community where people work together and help each other in all kinds of matters – even things like asking for feedback, helping to plan out sessions, or recommending the best printing company to work with. I was impressed how easy it was to move forward when backed by helpful members. This is why I wanted to become part of it all. Also, having supported the SAP Community on LinkedIn for a longer while now, I thought – why not make it official and see what’s hidden behind the closed doors of the SAP Champions group.

How do you learn in SAP Community?
What is your daily/weekly routine in SAP Community?

I don’t really have a routine as such. Being quite busy and having to balance between supporting my clients, helping my team members, and growing the company I tend to only focus on the topics that I’m interested in. Hence, I have a few tags subscribed like SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA, ABAP Development, SAP Integration Suite and I only really focus on those. I sometimes scroll through the newest posts to see if there’s anything that would be beneficial to either my customers or my LinkedIn audience – I then frame it in my own opinion and share it on.

Also, whenever a good topic comes to my mind that I have something to say on – I try to prepare a write-up and share it with the community, normally in form of a blog post, but I can’t say I’m too consistent with it…!

What is your suggestion to get the most out of SAP Community?

Don’t blindly scroll through it, subscribe to the topics you are interested in. Keep an eye on the newest posts. What I find even better is focusing on blog posts that got the most amount of engagement. You can filter by month and then sort by Likes, for example. You’ll be sure to only find things that were either controversial or powerful (with a minor delay though, of course).

Arrow_pictogramm_new.pngQuestion from Mateusz to you:
Do you just blindly scroll through the SAP Blog posts or do you have your own method for increased productivity? Let me know in the comments!
 🙂

Good to have you among SAP Champions, @m-skrzyniarz !

And to answer your question: a few times a week I just check blog posts using tags from my favorites. It helps me to stay up-to-date with the new content.

Best,
-Vitaliy
