what is the difference between SAP ISU invoice and Convergent charging invoice?

Hi all,

I am having difficulty understanding the difference between SAP ISU invoice and Convergent charging invoice In SAP utilities perspective?
can you please explain why we use Convergent charging invoice and how it is different from ISU Invoice?

There are a couple of normal use cases of Convergent Invoicing for utilities that I'm aware of.

  1. Providing a way to bill users for information that is stored within another 3rd party system (for complex or potentially transitional cases) and
  2. Merging Sal & Distribution orders into the IS-U billing engine (for potentially non-periodic billing like services or construction)
