utility to download sap enhancements and programs?

Good day. My boss says that he made and uploaded a utility that would download and implement programs and enhancements. However he did this on a user he can't remember, and it was long enough ago that the user (and possibly it's submissions) are likely deleted. So I'm going to guess 5+ years. His task to me is to find it, or something like it. He says EHP installer tool is not acceptable.

Indeed. Only for me this looks rather like a nightmare - writing your own functionality for what already exists in SAP, works perfectly fine and, as added bonus, is also maintained by SAP. Horror...

To his credit it's entirely possible when he made this that there was no other option. It does sounds relatively hopeless now though.
