SAP EDM : why to choose an interval length and not another ?

hello ,

i'm trying to know the impact of each interval length , the difference ..
For example why to choose the interval length 30 minutes and not 05 minutes .
i know it is related to the requirements . But what are the advantages and the drawbacks to choose one of them ?

Hi,

You can choose whatever interval limit you want based on your Cust type.

Usually small interval lengths like 05 mins are preferred for Commercial/industrial/Agri customers.

For residential or small commercial we can choose to have 30/15 mins intervals

it depends on the consumption ?
less is the consumption bigger is the interval ?

what is the advantage for an industrial customer to choose the 5 minutes for example ?

Hi,

Advantage for an industrial customer to choose the 5 minutes.

for example : Commercial & Industrial customers are the highest consumers and they will track their consumption & demand more frequently.

for residential and commercial Ones is it needed to use EDM ? not mandatory to have EDM. MDMS will store the reads and we need to request MDMS to send the reads.
