Hi all,
Is it possible to bill without any meter installed in any premise?
Do we need meter to be installed for Street lights,Park?
Please advice.

Ganesh:
Billing can take place with or without a device. It can occur for devices with or without registers. Unmetered billing is a standard process in the utility industry and is enabled via standard billing customization.
regards,
bill.

Hi,
You can use in the billing schema the rate with permissibility for rate cat. facts and installation facts. In this case you don`t need to mount any device, create any register operands etc. You enter the consumption into installation facts.
I hope this answer will be helpful.

Hi Vlado,
Can you please elaborate more about this, how to achieve such a functionality in schema steps?

Hi Ganesh,
following the conversation, you need to work on the follwoing steps
- create a rate type with category "F" (perimissibility for rate cat facts and installation facts) / RT1
- create a rate with the calculation steps you want to execute using your operands. Some of the operand values may be defined at rate level, rate category or also at installation level / RA1
- update your schema, including the rate previously created / SH1 >>> RA1
- create an operand with category = ratetype / OP1
- create your required rate categories / RC1
- create rate determination with the above rate category + ratetype / RDTR = RC1 + RT1
- change your rate categories defined and include as operand the ratetype above / RC1 >>> OP1 = RT1 + fact group if required
Hope it helps,

Hi,
I am trying out billing process for unmetered service (Installation without any device). I have created the following
a. Rate type (fact permissibility)
b. Rate (fact permissibility) with just one rate step having variant program (LUMSUM01) calculating the flat rate taking two operands (Price and factor) and resulting an output operand (amount). The values of input operands are supplied through
rate facts.
c. Rate determination is done for the above two.
d. Schema is created and the above rate is included.
e. Rate category is created and schema is attached to it.
f. In Rate Category facts, the rate type created in step (a) is given as fact value for an operand of rate type category.
g. The Rate category is assigned to an utility installation (ES30).
The following are my issues:
1. During ES30, the system asks MRU as mandatory. In my case, as there are no devices in the installation, meter reading is not
required. In that case, giving MRU in the Utility installation would be irrelevant. How to overcome this control?
2. As we do not have any device, Meter reading order will not be created. Hence Billing order will not be created. In that case,
how to Bill or invoice for the service ?

While there is no meter at this installation, a Meter Reading Unit is still required as it links any installation to a Portion for Billing purposes.
Your statement "Hence Billing order will not be created" is incorrect. As you said, no Meter Reading order will be generated but, provided your configuration is correct, a billing order WILL be created for this unmetered service - enabling it to invoice on the scheduled billing date defined in the MRU/Portion/Schedule Records.

Hi seanp7,
Thank you so much for your reply.
Could you please eloborate on the configuration settings required for billing order creation for the unmetered service ?
Thanks,
Sathya.

Hi Sathyadeep,
as correctly you have noticed and seanp7 mentions, MRU field is in any case required for the Installation. This is the case because MRU is directly linked to Portion, which specifies the periodic billings that should take place.
I guess that under 'configuration settings' you mean the consecutive steps that you have to do. Thus I guess you expect
a. create portion (e41b)
b. create mru and link to your portion (e41h)
c. update at installation level with the mru created (es31)
d. create order (el01)
Hope it helps,

Thanks Boulis.
Actually I thought, special settings required to create billing order without MRO.
