Hi All,
I am looking to have best possible design for posting return charges for our current scenario –
In our current implementation we have two company codes. At contract account level open items can be from both the company codes, when a check payment comes in it clears both the company code receivables.
Now the issue is when the check payment is bounced we reverse the payment and also post penalty charges, if the total penalty charge is $ 30 then we would like to post $15 one company code and $ 15 another company code.
We don’t get returns file from bank say in a week we get 10 or 20 return notifications through email or some other means.
The options we are looking is
Enhance events 280/281 - 260 - 285/286
or
Post manually the return charges on to both the company codes
I don’t think through returns activities we can handle the above scenario ?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
VR

Hi,
Have you tried "New Entries" for the same Return Reason and entered the Returns Activities configuration for the other Company code?
Give that a try.

VR:
While not a solution, this scenario is typically modeled and better enabled with a paying company code.
I think you are better off with event enhancement, splitting the return charge line item. I do not think that you can 'split' the charges using different return reason.
