Hi Everyone,
Could you please guide me for the following query:
Should we create Portion and MRU directly in the PRD Client or we should create them in the Dev. Client and then transport them to the PRD system?
What a best practice says?
Thanks and Best Regards

Hi MP,
It depends on the volume. Remember, Portion and MRUs are the config values (and not the data). So, in theory this is not a task for data migration team. These are strictly config values. BUT if the volume is large Migration team extends their support to the Process/Functional team in order to automate the process. Its the Process/Functional team who is ultimately responsible for the values.
Having said that, check how many Portions and MRUs you want to create. If the volume is not high, you can do it manually otherwise you can use ISMW (aka EMIGALL) jobs to automate the process. Since, ISMW jobs needs configurations (, testing etc.) you don't do it directly in PRD.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
usualy we are create Portions and MR's in the Dev. Client and then transport them to the PRD system.
Why? The answer is simple. Our migration team using a certain keys for Portions and MR's in the emigall objects. And of course we don't want accidentally Portion or MR keys to change in the PRD Client .
