Installing ISU on a non Uniocde system - restrictions

Hello ISU Gurus,

May I please know if there are any restrictions on ISU installation on a non Unicode ECC6.0 system?

Hello Mukta,

SAP's position is very clear (for further details see SAP Note 1322715): All SAP Netweaver 7.0 based systems must be installed on Unicode only.

Technically speaking, it is possible to use a non-unicode codepage. Because an ECC 6.0 installation CD allows only a UNICODE installation you would need to start installaing a lower release and continue with upgrades to the final release you want to use. But this is not recommended at all !!

In addition, you may find SAP Note 73606 interesting.
