Hi All,
There is company code implementation ongoing, but I'm facing a problem. I would like to amend master data in the current contract accounts to move them to the new company code. During this process I got the following message:
Group 'new cocode' is not permitted due to postings in company code 'old cocode'
Do you have any proposal how I can find a solution for this problem?
Thanks,
Gergo

Hi Gergely,
What I understand is, you have some contract accounts in the old company code, and you want to amend the master data of these accounts to move them to new co-code.
If this is so, please check if their are some open business transactions/documents in old co-code, because of which this type of error can occur.
I think you need to settle down such transactions/documents, may be this will solve your error.
Regards
Sachin

Gergo:
Once you have postings - cleared or open - for an account in the company, then you will face restrictions for changing companies. You should be able to change the standard company code, as long as it is also in the same company code group as already defined. But you will not be able to change both values when postings exist. If you cannot use the same cocode group, you would need to create a new account with the correct values.

bill.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your answer. What is the role of Company Code Group? What is the effect if the old and the new CoCo's are in the same group?
Another task regarding new CoCo: during the reversal of docs with old CoCo the reversal doc is also created for the old CoCo. We would like to close the old CoCo and in the future just use the old one e.g. in reversal postings.
Thanks,
Gergo

Hi Gergely,
all the company codes that are assigned under group are allowed to post documents on the contract account.
thanks,
