I need to change the rate category past dated with out reversing the invoice of the customer.

I do not believe that you cannot do that.  Rate category can only be changed for unbilled periods.

I appreciate your reply however my client want to change the rate category past dated where already Billing and invoicing is done. and they don't want to perform reverse of the invoice.

Please suggest how we can change the rate category.

Hi Sachin,

In standard SAP you are not able to do this. But if you want to do the same changes you have to go for custom enhancement.

In transaction SMOD you will get the enhancement option for package EE20, where you can find your exit name where you can put your validation.

Following exit can be used.

EXIT_SAPLEA01_006

EXIT_SAPLEA01_002

You need to simulate the bill/invoice with corrected rate category for billed period and then you need to do the adjustment revarsal.

Unless the new rate category will generate the exact same charges as the old rate category, it does not seem valid to reverse the bill doc without also reversing the invoice and the associated open items.
