Error KI235 while executing FP04M transaction

Hi Experts

I received the following error while executing FP04M Mass write-off

'Account 457005 requires an assignment to a CO object'

System Response

Account 457005 is defined as a cost element.
This means that you must
always specify a CO account assignment.

Procedure

Enter one of the following CO account assignments

• Order

• Cost center / cost center/ activity
  type

• Sales
  order item (for a project or cost relevant)

• Project / WBS
  element

• Cost object
  (Process manufacturing)

• Network/
  Network
  activities

• Business
  process

• Profitability
  segment

• Real
  estate object

The posting row affected is 000, account 457005.

Can anyone please guide me on how i should correct this error

Hi Anghsuman,

This error arises out, when in transaction EK02 you flagged the CO account assignment as X but don't assign a profit\cost center for the particular combination of Company Code\division\AD ID\Main Tr\Sub Tr.

In this sceanario, when you are perfroming a write-off, it should be booked in a cost center.

Take the particular combination of Company Code\division\AD ID\Main Tr\Sub Tr. for which this error is happening and go to trnsaction code EK02 and maintain a cost center against it.
