Hi,
I get this error message " Installation Invalid", message code 00398 when I perform billing related device installation. The installation number is specified with correct dates but I still get the same message.
What is the cause of this error ?

Have you performed technical installation first before performing billing-related installation?
From which transaction you are getting this error message? If possible, please share screen-shots of your actions.

I did not perform a technical installation.
I get the error on transaction EG34.

Hi,
Thanks for sharing the screen-shot, if you are using actual device (i.e. not Device Info record), then please perform technical installation from txn EG33.
Have you tried to perform this action for some other installation? Please check the master data individually like Device status, Installation validity (from ES32)...etc.
