Difference between Business Partner (General) and Contract Partner

How is a business partner different from a contract partner with respect to IS-U?

Hi:

A contract partner is associated with a company via contract accounts and concluded contracts. It is only possible to allocate contract accounts to a business partner and bill services if you have created the business partner as a contract partner.

The general business partner is created for information purposes, has no contract relationships with the company, is not a contact person or prospective customer.

A prospective customer can be an existing contract partner of the company and be a potential customer/contract partner for other products and services.

Hi,

The main difference is if you want to bill a customer in SAP ISU, you have to create him in the role of a contract partner (MKK). The business partner with the role general automatically gets created in the background.

General Business Partner:

The general business partner is only stored for information purpose.

Contract Partner

A contract partner is linked to the company through contract accounts and contracts. This makes

you to possible to allocate contract account to a business partner and bill for services if the

business partner was created with the role contract partner.

SAP Biness Partner Person or organisation doing business with the company. They must be created in the role of Contract Partner.
