Solved: Device No. ( serial no. ) & equipment numbering

hi,

i want device no.(serial no.) of material and equipment no., which is generating automatically when we put device no. ( serial no.) in technical installation screen, should be the same,

mean to say that..... serial no. and equipment no. both should be the same..., presently as i confirm technical installation after entering device no. an equipment is generating with different number range.. according to the equipment category...

please suggest how to achieve both no.'s same.

Hi

I do not understand the reason for having the same number as equipment no. and serial no.

If you set up external numbering for your equipment type for IS-U equipment, you can create device with identical serial no. and equipment no. in transaction IE01 or by use of BAPI_EQMT_CREATE.
