We have about 2000 meters that were created in error back in 2000 on 4.0B. They have been a thorn in our side for 7 years (thru an upgrade in 2004 to 4.71).
These meters have never been installed and we would like to Delete them from our 4.71 System.
There is a note: 378823 that talks about deleting these equipment records by running the PM equipment archiving process (only recommended -- if they have not been installed).
Note: We know that PM archiving will not address installed meters as the full list of tables involved is different when comparing PM and CCS equipment modules.
We were wondering if anybody else has successfully removed with no ill effects -- meter records from their system using this or anther approach.

We are implementing ECC6.0 and we have a similar requirement for which our consultants suggested more or less the same solution. You mark all your devices for deletion (system status of the device will show up as DLFL) and then run the archive program SARA using archive object "PM_EQUI".
