Delete IS-U device category

Dear all,

I would like to delete a device category with referred material.I have done following steps

TCode：MM06
MMREO001 select material
MMREO050 archive the material
MMREO110 delete material

The material is deleted, but device category still exist...can anyone let me know why this happen?

Hi Mister,

Apparently, it's not possible to delete device category directly from IS-U.

You can just set deletion flag for Device Category from Material Management yith T-Code : MM06.

Device category once created in IS-U can not be deleted however post setting deletion flag using MM06 ( as mentioned in the answer above) people also change the description of device category to include the word " DELETE" to ensure that it's not used subsequently . This is done as setting deletion flag on material doesn't stop creation of devices for the corresponding device category.
